Gravel roads are very common for cabins that are located high in the mountainous regions. Once you get to the cabin, the view is worth the drive! As we do not know the driving experience and comfort level of our guests on hilly roads, we highly recommend bringing an All Wheel Drive(AWD) or a 4WD. Guests and our cleaning crew drive up comfortably using their 2WD vehicles as well with experience! During snow/ice/heavy rains, an AWD/4WD is required. We have ample parking space at the bottom of the hill on our property for guests who are not comfortable driving on hilly roads or if their vehicle is not capable enough. If you have any questions about the driving in the mountains, please reach out to us. 🍁 Living Room The living room is designed to bring everyone together with classic cabin decor, and has two 3-seater and one 2-seater couch in front of the flat-screen TV. The stone fireplace is a focal point of the room and adds a warm glow to the space on cool evenings. The living room is surrounded by windows and gets a lot of sunshine in the afternoons. The 4 bathrooms spread throughout the home make it easy for guests on every level to unwind from a busy day. We do maintain the property with regular pest control, but due to the surroundings, or if doors are left open, or food is left outside the house, this can attract critters. 🔸 There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc. We will try and help you and ensure your stay remains pleasant even during times where things go beyond our control! 🔸 PLEASE NOTE: Fall/Winter is Lady bug season in the Mountains and these little bugs are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabins and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. 🔸 Note: This is the mountains and WiFi and cell phone service can sometimes be spotty and lose service. If the internet does go out, try power cycling the router first. 🌲 The lodge is located on 26 acres of a private mountain side with woods around. 🌲 There are no houses/cabins nearby. We share our space with wildlife like deers, owls, ground-hogs, squirrels and the occasional bears that are present in the mountains! 🌲 You will likely see and hear critters. There is no attic. If a squirrel crawls on the roof you will hear it. If it’s raining you will hear it. 🌲 If you see a bear during your stay do not feed it. Stay away from it. They are dangerous. Bears are RARE!

🌲 We have ample space to park multiple cars, RV, Camper or ATV’s in the front and the side of the house. 🌲 Roads leading up to the lodge are all on gravel with a few switchbacks (sharp turns) along the way. Switchbacks are very common for lodge that are located high in the mountainous region. Once you get to the lodge, the view is worth the drive. We have had guests and our cleaning crew who drive up comfortably using their 2WD vehicles. However, as we do not know the driving experience and comfort level of each of our guests so we recommend please use a 4WD as these are mountainous roads. During snow/ice/heavy rains, an AWD/4WD is A MUST. 🌲 If you have questions on the drive up to the lodge, please ask through airbnb messages or call us after your booking - we will share all details including a video of the drive up the lodge.
